Filmmakers and guests of Filmmakers are requested to arrive at the venue at least 45 minutes prior to their screenings. Cinepolis Chelsea, Regal Cinemas Battery Park Stadium 11 and SVA Theatre will each have a Filmmaker Check-In desk to assist filmmakers in locating their Filmmaker Coordinator. For all other venues, please check-in first with your Filmmaker Coordinator or the filmmaker department representative on duty.

At each screening there will be a brief introduction of the filmmakers by a Festival representative. Immediately following the program, the filmmakers will be re-introduced to participate in a brief question and answer (Q&A) session. Q&As run approximately 15 minutes but will vary upon the start of the next scheduled event in the theater.

Directors are expected to attend intros and Q&As at all public screenings of their film while in New York. Please let us know immediately if you will be unable to attend any of your screenings. Please also let us know if a representative other than the director wishes to participate in the Q&As.


For your premiere screening, our venue staff will rope off the requested number of reserved seats prior to general seating.

  • For feature films we are able to rope off a maximum of 20 total seats. Anything more should be discussed with your Filmmaker Coordinator, and is at the discretion of the festival.

The filmmaker or a representative of the film is responsible for monitoring and ensuring that the appropriate guests are given access to the reserved seats. Reserved seats may be released at the discretion of the theater manager starting 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the screening.

Reserved Seating refers to physical seats set aside inside a theatre. It does not refer to tickets held for a screening.
